It’s a bird, it’s a plane… hold on, yes, it is a bird! Because of its diminutive size, you could easily dismiss a budgie parakeet as one of your kids’ toys scattered on the living room carpet.
It’s so tiny, that it’s just a bit bigger than your average chess pawn. With a gamut of small pets to choose from, how do you know that a budgie parakeet is the right pet for you?
- You are a homebody. If you enjoy spending most of your time at home, it would be nice to have a pet parakeet keep you company, as this is a naturally sociable small parrot. It can make you smile with its ability to easily learn how to speak. Turn on some music and you’d be amazed at how it can even sing and dance for you.
- You are not allergic to feathers.
- You don’t mind loud noises. What the parakeet lacks in stature, it makes up for in its strong voice. Budgie parakeets have an innate sunny disposition, so it may uncontrollably make loud noises during the times when you’re in a somewhat meditative mood.
- You don’t want to spend a fortune on a pet. Parakeets don’t come with a heavy price tag, so they’re an answered prayer if you’re on the hunt for an inexpensive pet. Bird seed comes cheap as well. These birds are not divas, as they can manage living in a used bird cage.
- You live in an apartment. Parakeets are perfect for you, as they need only a small amount of space to move around in.
- You’re too lazy to take your pet to regular visits to the vet. Unlike cats and dogs, parakeets do not need annual vaccines. They’ll need to see the vet only when they’re sick.
- You don’t want to fuss too much over caring for your pet. Budgie parakeets are easy to care for, as all you need is 15 minutes a day for its physical care. Basically, all they need are a clean cage, food and water. This is the ideal pet for a busy person like you who has no time to take your pet for a walk. If you don’t have that much spare time to talk to your pet parakeet, you could get them in pairs, so it won’t feel so lonely.
