Caring For Your Dogs Hearing

Something often overlooked in the caring of dogs is their ears. Just like us humans they get wax build-up which lowers hearing capabilities but they are also susceptible to other ear problems. Especially breeds with long, floppy ears. Caring for your dog’s ears does not have to be an ordeal. A weekly or bi-weekly check is sufficient to check the presence of wax build-up, parasites or blisters. While some wax is acceptable, an excessive amount is not, and should be removed. You can do this yourself and loosen the wax build-up by moistening cotton balls or a soft cloth with several drops of almond or mineral oil and wipe the parts of the ear that are accessible.
