There’s nothing better than taking a lovely stroll on a weekend and capturing some of that wonderful fresh air to blow all the cobwebs off. There are some great places to go all over the country but there are also some that are extremely quiet and peaceful and more importantly ideal for that relaxing walk with your beloved pooch.

Balmedie Beach in Scotland is a great place that both you and your dog can enjoy. The fresh air blowing in from the sea means that you will get a real sense of relaxation and also get some good clean oxygen going through your body. Not only that, but your dog can enjoy all the great things about the beach such as; jumping in and out of the icy sea, sniffing all the different smells and exercising on mile after mile of quiet sandy terrain. A great bonus is that it is also bordered by grassy dunes which means that the dog also has other things to explore and take an interest in. The beach and nearby country park has recently been developed to provide a better visitor experience with all the amenities that you could ever need. There are good parking opportunities, toilets, different walkways to enable you to take your pick of the route you want and picnic areas with barbecues for people to make a day of it. Plus for fans of natural beauty and the great outdoors there are also wild flowers that grow on the beach which means that this place really does has something for everyone, including the dog.
No dog walking guide would be complete without a mention of the Lake District however. The walk in places is, as can be expected, quite hilly so is perfectly suited to passionate walkers who want to give their dog a real treat. The fresh and crisp air combined with stunning and breathtaking views provides the perfect location for a dog and its owner to walk around taking in one of the most beautiful places this country has to offer. Loweswater is a quiet and peaceful spot which means that your dog will have the chance to explore without mass people around all the time, which is sometimes a criticism of the Lakes. You and your dog are bound to love it here. Peaceful, quiet and perfect for a slow Sunday afternoon walk, locations don’t get better than this.
Richmond Park in London is a great place for a dog. This park provides the perfect escapism from the hustle and bustle of the city whilst still being able to take in the magnificent views of the capital’s skyline. It really is the best of both worlds. Your dog will get the chance to exercise in an environment away from busy roads and it will be also good for you too. It’s not often that you can mix a heavily populated city with a great dog walking opportunity, but this park is a great option.
